Life Journey

Dr. Joseph Catalano grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended De Smet Jesuit HS in St. Louis, followed by St. Louis University where he received his bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry. Dr. Catalano received his DDS (dental degree) from the University of Missouri, located in Kansas City in 1992 where he was invited to membership in Phi Kappa Phi Academic Society, was given William S. Kramer Award for Academic Excellence and graduated in the top 5% of his class. Immediately following dental school, he began a 4-year journey of specialty training in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. His specialty training encompassed oral surgery, facial trauma, jaw and facial reconstruction, IV anesthesia, TMJ disorders and pathology (tumors and abnormalities of the jaw and face). He served as chief resident between 1995 and 1996.

Dr. Catalano completed his residency in surgery in 1996 and moved to the Denver area where he has been in private practice ever since. In 2007, Dr. Catalano chose to focus solely on Dentoalveolar Surgery (removal of teeth/wisdom teeth), dental implantology, bone grafting and tissue regeneration. Previous affiliations include Membership Chairman of the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Trauma Society (ATLS Certification) in 1996 and Facial Trauma Panel at 4 HealthSouth Hospitals in the south/southeast Denver area between 1996 and 2006. He keeps up with his affiliations with the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), Colorado Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons. He continues to pursue all current and cutting-edge developments, knowledge, techniques, and materials used in oral surgery, dental implantology, bone and tissue regeneration, and outpatient IV anesthesia by attending numerous continuing education courses and seminars around the country. Dr. Catalano lives in Parker with his wife Brittany and his 4 children Dominic, Olivia, Aribella and Enzo. He enjoys spending time with his family playing golf, hiking, fitness training, bowling, traveling, enjoying culinary arts and enology.
